da esport bet: We’re more than a third of the way through the January transfer window, and Leeds United are still yet to complete a signing.
da pixbet: The Whites are close to the line when it comes to FFP at the moment, so we know that they can’t spend frivolously, but Phil Hay has recently stated that the Whites will be spending to some extent this month.
What’s been said then?
The journalist was talking on the latest edition of The Phil Hay Show, and he was answering questions from supporters who’d sent messages to the journalist.

Understandably, questions were raised about the money that Leeds are set to spend this month, to which Hay replied (The Phil Hay Show 10/1/20 28:00):
“Lewis was saying that it doesn’t look like they’re going to spend anything in January. Well, they will spend to an extent, for example with Adams. There’d be a loan fee involved, but they’re not going to spend big because there isn’t that much wriggle room in terms of Financial Fair Play either.”
Just enough left in the kitty
It could be argued that Leeds have been stupid in their transfer dealings to leave so little wriggle room in terms of FFP at this vital point of the season, but they actually aren’t in too bad of a situation.
If Leeds have enough left in the kitty to get a loan deal sorted for a player like Che Adams then they should be absolutely fine as they don’t really need wholesale changes to their starting XI.
Their current crop of players have them sitting eight points clear of third place after 26 games, so all they really need to do is to replace Eddie Nketiah and Jack Clarke.
Their FFP situation may sound scary, but they’ve got enough room to bring in the calibre of player to get them over the line after Adams netted 22 Championship goals last term.
In other news, it may be time for Leeds to cross two names off their list of potential Eddie Nketiah replacements.
