Gold quoted the original tweet and posted: “Simply amazing. Bring it on.”
The north London outfit appear to be edging closer to finally moving into their home following a frustrating season that has seen them play far more matches at Wembley than was originally played, or they would have liked.
Given Mauricio Pochettino’s men have advanced through to the quarter-final stage of the Champions League following their comprehensive victory over Borussia Dortmund, there is a chance they could play in that competition in their state-of-the-art venue next month, which the Argentine says he hopes is the case.
Tottenham supporters took to social media to have their say on Gold’s reaction to the original tweet, and while one said “Alasdair you little tease”, another said “I’m in tears here”.
