Sunderland fans are waving goodbye to a very popular figure on Wearside, as Bryan Oviedo sent a heartfelt message to fans on social media.
The Black Cats confirmed the inevitable this weekend, as Oviedo has completed his move away from the club.
The Costa Rica international is too good for League One if truth be told, and few Sunderland fans will begrudge him the switch to FC Copenhagen.
The 29 year-old, known for his wand of a left-foot, racked up 77 appearances in red and white stripes, scoring twice and providing 11 assists.
One of his finest moments for the Black Cats came in the Championship, when he struck a truly stunning strike from a pre-worked corner routine against Millwall, prompting a brilliant fan reaction.
And those very same fans have been responding to the left-back’s goodbye message, as he tweeted they will “always be like family”.
Jack Ross is a little light in the left-back department now, but fans are only focused on one thing, wishing their former star all the best.
Just take a look at some of the Twitter reactions down below…
