da apostebet: As reported by The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are both interested in signing Everton talent Ademola Lookman this January.
What’s the story?
da bwin: Lookman has struggled to work his way into Ronald Koeman’s Everton plans this season after his big move from Charlton in January and that means speculation inevitably develops surrounding his future.
The Mirror reckon that both Spurs and Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in the England U21 international.
However, the paper also report that Everton do not want to sell him with coaching staff viewing him as a player with a big future at the club.
Where’s best?
Lookman famously made an instant impact for the Toffees after his £10m move from Charlton, scoring his first Premier League goal for the club on his debut in a 4-0 rout of Manchester City.
Since then he’s made sporadic appearances in Koeman’s first team, at times having to make do with appearances for their U23s or appearances in the UEFA Europa League. He’s not played a single minute of top-flight football so far this term.
That’s not great for his development and at 19 years of age he’s entering that crucial phase of his career that will make or break his potential as an elite player.
A move to Tottenham Hotspur wouldn’t be the worst thing for him. First team football there would be similarly hard to achieve but Mauricio Pochettino has shown he’s adept at developing youth prospects and has shown no fear giving the likes of Dele Alli regular action, who moved from relative obscurity at MK Dons.
If their reported interest in the winger firms up, then back to London could well be the best place for him.
