da betsul: David Maddock of The Mirror has shared some news that could be deemed as encouraging for Liverpool and the club’s supporters after a situation which, at first, would appear negative.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will surely have heard of the worldwide Coronavirus outbreak which has plunged plenty of sporting events and other arrangements in doubt – some Serie A matches are currently being played behind closed doors, while the premiere of the new James Bond movie was even postponed because of it!
In regards to Liverpool however, Maddock has tweeted that it seems “inevitable” that the Premier League will follow Serie A’s lead in preventing supporters from attending matches, which could potentially be bad news for the club and its fanbase in terms of being able to celebrate the imminent title celebrations.
However, Maddock does go on to reveal that Manchester United’s win over Manchester City recently could see Jurgen Klopp’s side win the title in front of their own fans at Anfield against Crystal Palace, before supporters are told not to attend matches – the Reds need just two more wins to mathematically become champions of England.
Of course, given the fact that United are Liverpool’s bitter rivals, seeing them win a game wouldn’t normally be considered as a positive, but Maddock’s revelation that their victory could speed up the title win and see Klopp’s men celebrate it with their fans puts a different spin on things.
