da bet esporte: Reports suggest Tottenham are chasing Napoli star Allan Marques Loureiro, known as Allan, and the Brazilian international is tailor made for the Premier League.
What’s the story?
According to Calcio Napoli (via Sport Witness), Tottenham are interested in signing Allan in the January transfer window.
It is claimed that the North Londoners will offer up €40m (about £35.5m) for the 27 year-old, though Napoli are against the move.
Tottenham have reportedly been “probing the ground” and scouting the tough-tackling midfielder, after seeing their advances for 21 year-old Amadou Diawara rejected.

The perfect signing?
Allan earned his first Brazil caps during the recent international break, and fans in Naples will rightly claim it is bizarre that it has taken this long.
While he does not exactly fit the mould of a typical Brazil player, the midfield pitbull would walk into most club teams in the world, as his tackling, pressing and passing is key to allowing the more creative players to work their magic.
The 27 year-old has two assists in Serie A this season, as well as averaging 1.3 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game, but it’s on the defensive end where he really shines.
Allan averages four tackles per game in the league this season, and that number rises to 4.8 in the Champions League. He has never averaged less than two tackles per game in a season thus far in his career, and his recent display against Liverpool showed exactly what he is capable of against the Premier League’s best.
He made five tackles as Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to register a single shot on target in Naples, and he also completed an incredible 95 per cent of his passes.
Allan is not the most glamorous midfielder in the world by any means, but the Napoli ace has developed into one of Europe’s meanest defensive midfielders over the last few seasons, and he could be the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele in North London.
